GAIL gains on the BSE

GAIL (India) is currently trading at Rs. 146.10, up by 0.65 points or 0.45% from its previous closing of Rs. 145.45 on the BSE.

The scrip opened at Rs. 145.50 and has touched a high and low of Rs. 146.10 and Rs. 145.25 respectively. So far 26401 shares were traded on the counter.

The BSE group ‘A’ stock of face value Rs. 10 has touched a 52 week high of Rs. 199.40 on 16-Aug-2018 and a 52 week low of Rs. 144.30 on 10-Jul-2019.

Last one week high and low of the scrip stood at Rs. 150.00 and Rs. 144.30 respectively. The current market cap of the company is Rs. 65735.32 crore.

The promoters holding in the company stood at 52.64%, while Institutions and Non-Institutions held 43.64% and 3.72% respectively.

The government is mulling to split GAIL (India) by hiving off its pipeline business into a separate entity and selling it off to strategic investors. GAIL is India’s biggest natural gas marketing and trading firm and owns more than two-thirds of the country’s 16,234 km pipeline network, giving it a stranglehold on the market.

GAIL India is India’s principal Natural Gas Company with activities ranging from Gas Transmission and Marketing to Processing (for fractionating LPG, Propane, SBP Solvent, and Pentane); the transmission of Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG); production and marketing of Petrochemicals like HDPE and LLDPE and leasing bandwidth in Telecommunications.
