Turmeric futures traded lower on NCDEX as speculators trimmed their holdings due to weak demand from stockists. Moreover, higher arrivals of the spice in the spot market weighed on turmeric prices.

The contract for June delivery was trading at Rs 6774.00, down by 0.35% or Rs 24.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6798.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 6305 lots. The contract for July delivery was trading at Rs 6818.00, down by 0.29% or Rs 20.00 from its previous closing of Rs 6838.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 15425 lots on NCDEX.

Jeera futures trade lower on profit booking

Jeera futures traded lower on NCDEX as investors booked profits after a sharp rise in prices. Though, improved export demand on the back of good quantity of cumin being exported to China capped downtrend.

The contract for June delivery was trading at Rs 17300.00, lower by 0.77% or Rs 135.00 from its previous closing of Rs 17435.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 2493 lots. The contract for July delivery was trading at Rs 17440.00, down by 0.68% or Rs 120.00 from its previous closing of Rs 17560.00. The open interest of the contract stood at 5016 lots on NCDEX.
